FAA Form 8130-3
FAA Form 8130-3 is the airworthiness approval tag that certifies a part's conformity and eligibility for installation under FAA rules.
The tag records what was done to the part, by whom, and under which approval. It travels with the part as part of its trace package and is a precondition for most transactions in the aftermarket.
Dual release, where a tag is issued under both FAA and EASA approvals, widens the pool of buyers who can accept the part without further paperwork.
Paperwork determines saleability. A part without acceptable certification is inventory, not stock, and prices accordingly.
